| Merijane Bench - Events Committee | |
Merijane graduated from Kuna High School and later completed a Legal Secretarial Course. She has a gift for Organization and used it throughout her career that stretched from Idaho to Long Beach, California. She is currently a stay-at-home, homeschooling mother. In addition to working on the Art of Womanhood Events Committee, she uses her gifts for Organization and Administration as Summer Training Registrar for the LEMI Organization. She has trained to mentor most of the LEMI scholar projects and is on Level II of her 5 Pillar Certification from a Liberal Arts University, George Wythe University. She was born and raised in Kuna, Idaho until she began her first marriage of nine years, at the age of 18. She was blessed with two boys during her first marriage and then with a second husband (after her first marriage dissolved) in 1994. Jay, her second husband, adopted her two sons, and they had four more children, bringing the total to six: Jared 18, Jordan 15, Jonah 12, Lacie 9, Cami 6, and Annaliece 2. Growing up in a non-religious, alcoholic home, she is now trying to figure out how to raise her family in a completely different way. Merijane explains, “Most of the time I feel completely clueless; I had no example to go by and both of my parents have passed away!! However, when I attended my first Art of Womanhood Convention, my main epiphany was that Art of Womanhood is fulfilling the role of a mother for me, in guiding me and teaching me how to become the woman, wife and mother that I want to become. Art of Womanhood has been a pretty important part of my life and education, and I'm very grateful for it.” She likes camping (when she gets to go!), sewing, crocheting, reading, reading, and reading, writing, and she loves the pain of change that learning brings. Her husband has a Master’s degree in Human Resource Training and Development and is the Training Coordinator for McCains, Inc. in Burley, Idaho and teaches English as a Second Language at the College of Southern Idaho. She would like to pursue a degree with GWU, and will continue with that pursuit when that season arrives for her. |

Suzy Bertolio - Events Committee |
Suzy lives in Providence, Utah; she is a homemaker and enjoys being part of Art of Womanhood. Her husband Bart is a Data Base Administrator. They have nine children, five boys and four girls, ages 17-7 years old. She is committed to being here for them as their mother and someone they can confide in. It has not been easy to combine two families. She and Bart have decided that joy comes with a cost, if you want to truly feel joy; you have to work very hard for it. After her children are grown, she can’t think of anyone she would rather spend her years with, than her best friend and husband, Bart. She loves investigating educational opportunities for both her and her family and enjoys being able to share with others, the information she has learned. She is a child advocate and has a passion for children, adoption and families. She feels that woman can have a direct influence on families and is excited to be apart of the Art of Womanhood team. |
